The centre is also engaged in collection, storage and retrieval of information.
Information is collected in the form of books, reports, periodicals, bibliography
etc. a valuable collection of books is also being managed by the centre,
which can be easily accessed by the users at the centre itself.

The centre also provides information for contacting the relevant sources
on the queries of the subjects, which are not dealt by the centre. The
referral service also guides the users to contact the appropriate organization

The ENVIS Centre has been subscribing to a number of
newspapers and journals regularly to extract relevant information on Panchayati
Raj and Environment, and compiles it in the form of a reference material.
Abstracting service is provided to the user as and when requested by
them on specific issues.

ELECTRONIC EXCHANGE SERVICE
All the information about Role of Panchayat in Environmental Management could be obtained
through E-mail, Fax etc. Information could also be obtained in the form
of CDs, floppies as per the requirement of the individual.

NEWS RETRIEVAL SERVICE
In order to disseminate information on environmental issues, the centre
also collects information from the print media both in English and Hindi
and collects it daily in order to develop database on "information
through media". This information is also retrieved and disseminated
as and when needed.
